So it was KLFW (Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week) last month and I was very lucky to attend one of the shows and  be part of the glamourous affair. It has been very long since I actually attended one and the last time I recall was sometime back two years ago when I was working for Tongue In Chic.

Things are slightly different this time especially with many fresh faces in the fashion scene now. There are some people which I know on a personal level like old media friends and some I do know of because of them being a celebrity. So it was a good blend of the new and the old in the crowd.

And, I wasn't alone at the show as my friends came along with me so the whole 'awkwardness' wouldn't be too overwhelming. As we walked to the registration counter, we were somehow lost and not in that direction sense but 'lost' because we don't know whom to register with as there were several counters with several people.

So, we waited a bit for someone familiar to assist us. While we were onto that, a photographer asked us for a photo as we were standing right in front of the 'red carpet' wall and we smiled with our daze faces while flashes blinded our eyes for a second or two. Then, we went up to the counter again and this time, we didn't recognise anybody 'familiar' but a very nice man assisted us with our passes and directed us to our designated seats. He even rushed us nicely as the show was about to start. This means we were one of the latecomers and I am very happy to use this infamous fashion saying 'fashionably late' because it is very appropriate and accurate to that situation. This was our dramatic spur moment of enjoying being the very important person at the event as we walked down the aisle to our seats and there were some eyes on us and this may make me sound like a sponge but I spotted some people looking at us. Hah!

It was wonderful because we felt like superstars even though it was just twenty seconds. 

DAY 1: Looking all sharp and swanky for the event. Here's me donned in all white with a dash of prints while Stephanie decided to play it fierce with her leopard blazer and toned down with earthy hues instead. On the other hand, Adam suits up looking all dapper with his nicely fitted coordinate and my hot blonde bomb rocks her Unif 'night gown'  effortlessly, baring her sexy back loud and fierce!

Oh, and we were given ice-cream to enjoy the show which I thought was sweet and weird. Sweet because ice-cream makes people happy. Weird because ice-cream is enemy to fashionistas especially the sweet mother of fatty calories. That, I find somehow weird.

Anyway, so the show started and I thought I was real excited at first but in all honesty, I wasn't. It could be because of some designs were bland and the music gave me yawns. And, I wasn't alone on this because the guys sitting behind me were yawning as well when I took a quick stretch exercise to stay awake and that's where I caught them. I can't remember all the designers but just this one, who goes by the name of Ezzati Amira who had one particular dress that stole my eyes in every good way. It was a beautiful mermaid dress made of shiny sequins and what more than my favourite two colours of blue and green.

Then, another designer caught my attention was designer Pearly Wong and it was not because of her gorgeous minimal designs alone but the music that was playing during her show. It was my favourite song from my favourite DJ and hearing that song played at a high fashion event is rare because he isn't a famous 'Guetta'. The moment the song went on, the crowd was all charged up and it was evident because the guys behind me started to talk really loud about the song and even the models haven't appeared yet. One of them even started to search for the song. I wanted to tell them who the artiste was but I was shy (as usual) so I kept quiet, as always. But, I was really happy that they played Gesaffelstein's OPR because it got everybody pumped up which was good.

DAY 1: My ultimate favourite from Pearly. Clever ensemble well put together with interesting layerings, structured tailoring added with a perfect punch of colour while still keeping the whole look minimal.

The last day of KLFW was sweet and short for me and I meant that literally. We were really late this time so we only managed to catch ten minutes of the show or maybe less than that but it was a beautiful collection by veteran style guru Khoon Hooi where his majestic ensembles were enjoyed by a loud applause and some standing ovation from some celebrities like Ning Baizura and Marion Caunter. I would do the same thing too but if it wasn't for my feet that needed a break off the ground from my five-inch stilettos.

DAY 2: Khoon Hooi's collection is very well presented with an interesting blend of bold and subtle elements that screams for a majestic royal party!

All in all, KLFW was a fun experience for me although the sound system could be better. Hope the next one beats this, like always.

By that title of my post, i meant it literally so pun intended. FMFA came and took off just some nine hours ago. Festivals in Malaysia is a HUGE thing for everybody and it's somehow cool if you are part of it, that evidently explains the blend of awkward and cool beings. It was all beautiful with the crowd dressed in nines and all the fun props decorated at the venue. There was also a ferris wheel made as the iconic landmark for everyone to meet up with lost drunkard friends. Everybody seemed to be so happy but i feel the contrary. And no, women hormones have nothing to do with my emotions last night. I was feeling melancholy the whole night while all sorts of noise tried to soak my presence. Lost some of my friends so I spent some time alone with myself wandering which was kind of fun.

I feel weird at the festival. I feel awkward in crowds. I feel awkward going up to strangers. I feel awkward when people look at me.Only the grass and the air was pleasant to me. Oh and also Bloc Party, Fun, Zed and Prodigy!

I went home with the thought of a promise good sleep from Prodigy's turbulent beats but i ended up rolling in bed with obscure thoughts instead. Maybe i was in a bad mood i'll say? Just like Justin Hayward Young of The Vaccines.

So i have an upcoming exhibition happening about a week and a half from today and I am feeling totally nonchalant. Not confident, neither am I afraid nor feeling paranoid. About ten something minutes ago, I felt like I was about to lose my head when staring at my incomplete artwork. Incomplete. I thought to myself, my incomplete work is actually done - one second feeling very contented and somewhat happy while the next second, feeling rather lost. I feel like something is missing but then again, it looks perfect. My incomplete artwork is in need of my resort right now for which I have about 36 hours to carefully think and carry out action(s) once the thinking stage is completed.

Okay, a minute has passed. I am feeling a bit jittery right now to be honest as I look at my incomplete artwork on my right. Gosh, thirty six friggin hours! I must start something i.e. deep and logical thinking. Anyway, for the fact that this is my first time having my incomplete artwork going up at an exhibition, let alone in London itself, which happens to be one of the prime places for art and music in the world - this certainly adds on the anxiety. Anyway, I feel very honoured to be part of the exhibition that is happening in the arty Shoreditch, London. Thank you Donald of DonShi Art for this amazing opportunity. I was unable to attend STYLO's fashion show in KL for reasons that I am all the way in the UK. However, my good friend attended the spectacular show on behalf of my blog. Thank you Catherhea for the beautiful images and STYLO for the invitation. I must say that the designs are very ala couture and interesting. My favourite piece from the show would definitely be the white fringe dress and according to Cat, the dress is made from plastic bags. Interesting and how very clever of designers to incorporate 3R concepts (recycle, reuse, reduce) for their collection. Now that makes fashion eco-friendly indeed.

Got my girls out last weekend for a fun shoot. Cloudy weather with subtle lighting was indeed perfect for the shoot. And before I forget, I'd like to proudly and officially introduce to you Fuzzy Logic comprising - Catherhea, Chengi, Jojo (she won't be joining us at the mo cos she's in the other side of the world) and me. You might have heard of it if you have been following my blob, this time Fuzzy Logic is definitely happening despite the utterly long hiatus due to everyone's busy schedule. Without any further ado, the resurrection of Fuzzy Logic begins!

If you are wondering what's this shoot about, it is for Parkson X Tongue in Chic's 'So You Think You Can Style' event which we'll be participating on 23rd July 2011.



So it is a styling challenge comprising of ten teams of three whereby two will be playing stylists while the other models in each team. Participants get to play dress up with apparel brands like: United Colors of Benetton, Desigual, Miss Sixty, Elle and more as well as accessories from Accessorize as the tools in this styling playground. Three winners will be walking home with grand prizes worth RM 2, 000 to pimp up their personal wardrobe. Certainly sounds like fun eh. Last week, I attended F&F fashion show by STYLO which was held at Chin Woo Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. It was definitely one hectic week for me as I had to attend four fashion shows that week and still go to school the next day. And, apologies for the lack of updates. School just started and I couldn't find time to blog as I am drowned with assignments. Nevertheless, I am still gonna blog about STYLO fashion week for you lovelies =)

ZOUKOUT was amazing. Was in the lion city aka Singapore with my two best girl friends for the event last year. Pretty neon lights. Half-naked gorgeous people. Free booze. Orgasmic music and for once, no mainstream music! If only i have brought my dslr with me, it will definitely complete my whole zoukout experience. Left my heavy duty snapping machine at home cos it was too bulky for me. Can't believe it is all over now. Three months has passed. Zoukout has definitely spoiled Joanne and I in choices of clubs and music. We are so picky when it comes to clubbing now. We hate clubs that spin mainstream music! Speaking of which, i haven't been clubbing lately. Gosh. Tied down with work for LOREAL BRANDSTORM competition. Will blog about it soon. Now, back to zoukout. I still can't believe my girls and i stood like ten long hours for the event and can still remember that we planned to leave the place early so that we won't get harassed by some drunk douches. We were drop dead exhausted and couldn't even take a cab cos the line was crazy. So we decided to take the mrt back. Glad that we managed to get home safely. Can't wait for the next ZOUKOUT!!

Attended the FORD SUPERMODELS press conference this morning. Thank you STYLO for the media invitation =) The conference was held at STYLO Academy in Bangsar. It was an early event that kicked off at 10 30 AM and I was... late. One hour late to be exact.The moment I arrived, the conference almost ended but I did manage to listen to the ten minutes of Q&A with the floor and the main key people i.e. Datuk Nancy Yeoh, Organising Chairman of the Ford Models Supermodels of the World Malaysia 2011 and Datuk Razlan Razali, Chief Executive Officer of the Sepang International Circuit.
